2018 Update Meeting
UC Berkeley was first awarded what has now become the NIEHS-funded Superfund Research Program grant in 1987. Since then, UCB successfully competed an additional 6 times for renewal of the grant. In the ensuing years, the program has morphed and adapted to address ever-changing environmental and health concerns. Our focus has always been on developing research tools and methodologies and directing our research aims towards improving human and environmental health.
In this update meeting, we discussed the history of our program, our research and successes, and our perspectives for the direction of future research. Panel discussions covered issues of water availability and safety and the social impact of chemical exposures.
